13. What I Knew Then, What I Know Now

November 9, 2018

I want to be back in that mayhem of not having things figured out.

When I watch this video I made in early 2010, just before moving to Kuala Lumpur, I regrettably feel like things were so much more exciting then.

How do we live in a state of constant wonder? If I could just figure that out, maybe death wouldn’t scare me as much.

I have to get back to engineering some unpredictability in my life. I’m afraid Silicon Valley just doesn’t have a clue about anything I am saying.

A meeting of artist and place, exploring the isles of my life abroad.

•

Isles, the album, is a
16-song compilation using sounds recorded on location from around the world.

Some cultural, others simply atmospheric, these sounds capture the kinetic and visceral experience of travel heard through the music
of the traveler.

•

Isles, the online journal, tells the story of that journey.
